During the COVID-19 pandemic, I was introduced to meditation by my high school water polo coach when our practices were held on zoom. It was very helpful to me during the pandemic. As a teenager with rigorous classes and a demanding sports schedule, daily meditation continues to bring a sense of calm to my busy life.

When my family friend was diagnosed with cancer, I told him how daily meditation had helped me. He later shared with me that daily meditation had also improved his mental well-being.

Cancer patients and their families may experience anxiety and worry. Clinical studies have shown that mindfulness can decrease stress, anxiety, fatigue and improve sleep. A clinical study has also shown that mindfulness can improve the experience of clinical procedures. I became a certified meditation teacher so that I could create a free resource for guided meditations for cancer patients and their families to help improve their mental well-being.

Since I have been taking Spanish for five years, I decided to make some guided meditations in Spanish. I reached out to friends who spoke other languages so that I could provide guided meditations in these languages as well so that language is not a barrier to the practice of meditation. With more time, my goal is to add more guided meditations in more languages.

In the midst of hectic, modern life, I hope that you spend time daily to creating calm in your life with a daily practice of meditation.
